Reactivate Windows 11 Pro after new laptop purchase

Team,This is to inform you that I upgraded to Windows 11 Pro from Windows 11 Home Single language, by purchasing the upgrade from Microsoft Store on my old laptop. Now, my old laptop had a breakdown, so I purchased new PC that has pre-installed Windows 11 Home. As I already had Windows 11 Pro, I tried entering generic product key - VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66TBut now the system is stuck and not activating Windows 11 Pro at all. Microsoft support had remote controlled my laptop and I want to bring to notice that they tried activating Windows 11 Pro by copying and pasting random batch scrip

    :)

  3. Reactivate W10 Pro Purchased as an upgrade

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand the difficulties you are facing while activating Windows 10 on a new laptop with the upgrade key that you have purchased from Microsoft Store.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the Windows 10 version installed on the new laptop and is it activated?
    • Have you signed in to the new PC with the same Microsoft email account, which you used in the old PC?
If you have Windows 10 Home installed and activated on the new PC and signed in with the same Microsoft account that you used in the old PC. Then perform the below steps.

    1. Press Windows + I key from the keyboard to launch
      Windows Settings.
    2. Click on Update & Security and select
      Activation from the left pane.
    3. Click on Go to Store. It will redirect you to the Microsoft Store window.
    4. Click on Start Upgrade and the upgrade process will start.

If it’s a Windows 10 Pro or after following the above steps you don’t get an option for Start Upgrade and instead ask you to click on $99.99 again. Then please contact our

    Microsoft Phone/Chat
    support team for further help.

    We await your response.

Transfer Windows 11 Pro upgrade to new laptop?

I upgraded from Windows 11 Home to Pro on a laptop purchased last year. I've replaced that laptop - is there a way to move the 11 Pro upgrade to the new laptop before I sell the old one?
