Windows 10: Reactivating Windows 10 w/o Microsoft Account - Orignial Windows Key from W8

Hi. I think I have a rather complicated question.

I'm PC just broke down some days ago. So I had to buy new motherboard, CPU och RAM-sticks. I have the same SSD, with the same Windows-installation on it, though it now says that I have to active my Windows 10. The problem is that I haven't paired my Microsoft-account with my Windows 10-key. So I can't reactive. Another problem is that I had Windows 8 from the beginning, and I got the W10-upgrade from the Upgrade Assistance(I think it was called), this was like in 2015-16 or something like that.

So I can only find my old W8-key. How to I go about to reactive W10?

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
