Hello everyone, About half a year ago I cloned my C: drive to a 2TB HDD using macrium reflect, since then, every time I try to enable ReagentC in CMD this error appears: "REAGENTC.EXE: Unable to update Boot Configuration Data". Doing some research I stumbled along this thread of somebody having the same issue. The person with the marked answer on that thread noticed that OP had 2 partitions on his drive functioning as system partitions, the C: partition and the EFI System partition which should be the lone system partition. This seemed to be the underlying issue that was causing the ea

REAGENTC.EXE: Unable to update Boot Configuration Data.

Has anyone considered how someone can boot a UEFI system from an NTFS partition, as is being done in this thread? Was it actually an UEFI system? If the drive was configured as GPT, it must have been.

I have mentioned before, you can boot install media as UEFI, on newer systems, using an NTFS formatted flash drive. Could it be the requirement for Fat32 for the system partition is being removed but reagentc has not gotten there yet?

I can't enable ReagentC. Please help!

Hey all. I've had some trouble with Windows Updater, specifically with the WinRE update recently, where it can't be downloaded/installed.
I've tried to troubleshoot this myself a bit, but I'm getting stuck here in CMD prompt:

    C:\windows\system32>reagentc /info

Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE) and system reset configuration

    Information:

    Windows RE status: Disabled

    Windows RE location:

Boot Configuration Data (BCD) identifier: 132b39f3-fb36-11e8-a6db-a3a6dbeaa0f1

    Recovery image location:

    Recovery image index: 0

    Custom image location:

    Custom image index: 0

    REAGENTC.EXE: Operation Successful.

    C:\windows\system32>reagentc /enable

REAGENTC.EXE: Unable to update Boot Configuration Data.

Is there anyone who knows what this means? Thanks a lot!

REAGENTC.EXE: Unable to update Boot Configuration Data.

Just so we are on the same page, if you set the re image, it will set the change in the BCD store, although another step is necessary to actually make the change. It does not change the location of the actual Winre.wim, which is placed during the install and is then the only version on the system.

Many commands were suggested in this thread. One was to copy the Winre.wim to the C: partition and then try to use it to set the recovery options.

I wondered, if the original Winre.wim was located correctly and usable, why try to move it, but it was done.

The reagentc /setreimage command is pretty much worthless unless you know the actual location of the Winre.wim file you want to use. And of course you need the partition and directory structure to do that. I believe you will also get a message stating the image is not available if you choose incorrectly.

The install in this thread has several warning flags, one of which is how they can boot as UEFI and secure boot from an NTFS partition. I might even try that tomorrow to see if my system will boot that way.

There may be some things we have not been told.
