Really Bad Lag When Using Headphones

Good day, My laptop experiences terrible sound lag when I have my headphones or earbuds pugged in. Sometimes I will get no sound what so ever, and have to unplug my device from the audio jack, then reinsert. Even after that, sometimes it takes 6 to 10 seconds or more before sound comes through.Once I have sound playing it's fine, but when my computer is not playing sound, the audio to my headphones is cut off, and I have to try and "wake up" the audio again, by playing a sound reputedly or a video. ect.I don't notice the issue when using a blue tooth speaker, however. Only when using my headph

  3. With headphones my audio sounds echo and really bad

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Appreciate your efforts to work on this issue.

I can understand the situation must be difficult for you when the head phone doesn't work as it should.

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    1. What is the make and model of the headphone?
    2. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to this issue?
    3. How is the headphone connected to the PC?
    4. When you say ‘I've reset multiple times’, are you referring to the Sound settings reset or the complete PC reset?

However, let us try these methods and check if that helps.

Method A: Suggest you to try the steps from this article to check if that makes any difference.

Fix sound problems in Windows 10:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026994/windows-10-fix-sound-problems#v1h=tab01

Method B: To isolate the issue further, suggest you to follow these steps to check if that helps.

    1. On the Playback tab, select the headphone > right click and select properties > Go to advance tab and change the sample rate and test for the issue.
    2. Uncheck the option ‘Allow applications to take the exclusive control on this device’.
    3. Click on Apply and Ok.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

  4. Really Bad Lag When Using Headphones

    Bluetooth Headphones bad quality

So I have some JLab Studio wireless headphones I got at Walmart, and when pairing for the first time with my Lenovo ThinkPad T440p, They work and sound perfect. But when I disconnect them, and then turn them back on and they automatically reconnect, they
sound REALLY bad. I had this issue when I used to have a MacBook Pro but it would only sound bad when I had the audio input set to the headset. If I set it to the internal mic it would fix it. Doing this does not fix the issue, and the only way to fix it is
to re-pair the headphones by deleting them from the paired list, and repairing again. This is really annoying and I don't know how to fix it. I do not have this issue on any other devices except for devices running Windows 10. The headphones work perfectly
fine on my ThinkPad T440p when I had Windows 8.1 installed, but after upgrading to 10 this issue popped up. I have looking through the device properties and tried switching stuff on and off, but nothing fixed the issue. It is really annoying to not be able
to close my laptop lid, and having to repair the headphones every time I leave the house with the laptop or go to bed. I am considering going back to Windows 8.1 to fix this issue as it is that annoying. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this problem
it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
