    Really Bad Mouse Lag

I doubt you will be able to do that with a laptop. Try the Cortana thing?

My experience after upgrading from 8.1 was of significant mouse lag- very sticky- a USB wired mouse. Once I'd solved some CPU usage issues arising from Win 10 (customer experience, Windows Defender), I noted the graphics card driver was a basic MS driver, not the Nvidia driver.

Once that graphics driver automatically downloaded, the mouse was ok.

  3. I am using a wired USB mouse and touchpad and am experiencing serious cursor lag as the other people above, following a windows 10 upgrade.

the lag comes and goes intermittently, with no obvious pattern.

I have updated all drivers (Lenovo Helix laptop with onboard Intel Graphics). Windows 10 Enterprise with Cortana disabled by policy.

I think I have tried all of the suggestions above, but still have the issue. Any more ideas ?

Can you confirm that when the lag occurs you have neither excessive CPU nor disk activity?

  5. I have used the task manager performance monitor to check the CPU and disk activity during the issue and I see low levels of usage for all parameters.

However, as an earlier person noted, when running the task manager (as the foreground task, but not when it is minimised), I note that the task manager makes the problem go away and the mouse instantly responds OK. Minimising the TM again brings the problem back.

Hi, I came across this- make of it what you will (I hate videos like that..*Smile) I only mention it 'cos it's from Lenovo.

There's a thread here, mentioning the task manager issue, and a couple of 'fixes' ... see if anything rings a bell...

I was having the same severe lag issue with both mouse and keyboard in Windows 10. It happened after a recent update. Apparently it might have to do with the Intel HD Graphics driver. If you have this driver go to the intel site and update the driver. If you are already running the latest version from Intel then try updating to a previous version. This apparently has solved my problem.

I went into device manager and then down to Universal Serial Bus and expanded the list. On each (if you have more than one) Generic USB hub right click and select properties, then select the tab Power Management untick "Allow the computer to power down this device to save power." click ok and repeat for all others. Reboot and check the result.

I was experiencing the lag with a Logitech wireless mouse. Moving the usb plug-in from the back of my tower to the front fixed it. Strange because it did not have any lag with Win 7.

Had same problem. Went to control panel, mouse, Smart Sense, set filter to 0. It was set at 3. So far so good. I was ready to go back to 8.1 because this was so bad. I will re-post if mouse gets squirly again. Seems like my old mouse

    Really Bad Mouse Lag

A number of people are reporting issues with wireless mice.. esp. Logitech mice- maybe drivers- and finding distance helps. E.g.

  14. Thank you Dalchina... this was exactly the remedy for my problems. I had the very same problems. Pointer lag (both mouse and touch pad) and later I realized that even my keyboard had same issue. Only when opening task manager the problem disappeared. I had Windows 8.1 bundling with the Acer Laptop and took the advantage on upgrading to Windows 10 on the first day I had my new laptop. Two months without problems until in one morning it updated bunch of patches for 2 hours and the problems starting to show afterward.

Tried everything from as simple as restarting, disable the non microsoft services, disable the non microsoft shell extensions, updating the firefox and all its addons, reinstall my laptop drivers (downloaded from Acer official website), and even (sorry) swearing to my misery... *chuckle

None of the above worked, until I just disable the FMAPP.EXE and prevent it from restarting under start tab.

Whoala! Solved the problem which almost cost me to go back to Windows 8.1 I had earlier.

I had this problem and felt that there was something running in the background eating up both processing capability and memory. I upgraded the memory which helped a little for a little while. Then it got bad again. I felt strongly that it was Macafee causing the problem. So finally I removed Macafee and installed another security suite. A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! It's like a new computer. Hope this helps.
