Windows 10: Really random names for my files, but files arent affected.

So, I recently restarted my computer to simply refresh my computer, and all of my desktop files, search bar and time are in some random characters. I've run a virus scan through multiple trustworthy anti-virus software, and no result! I'm seriously concerned, as a lot of personal data is on this computer and I can't seem to solve it. The files aren't affected and when in the file explorer they have their standard names, but I'm still really worried.

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

 

BAT file/Script to find and replace files

So you have a directory containing both random named ZIP files and consistently named TXT files and you want to apply the TXT file naming patern to the ZIP files where the 5-digit numbers match? Are there sub-directories? Are all the ZIP file names in that pattern (#####_Example_720p.zip) and all the TXT files in that pattern (RAT_Example_#####_24f_ONO.txt)?

 

Finding duplicate files

Hey hey,

During the years the backups have just accumulated in random places, essentially, and I would like to clean up. Is there a program that can search for duplicate files? And by that I mean identical files. I tried dupeGuru, but that somehow found ... all files to be identical I guess? Like how a bunch of jpg's with different names, sizes and locations being marked 100% identical, or how a bunch of xls-files with completely different everything also were 100% matches with each other. I don't need any fancy functions, just a list of the files that share the name and filesize and created/last write dates.
