Windows 10: Realtek 8111F Gigabit Lan not working after upgrade to Windows 10

After upgrading from Windows 8.1 Pro to Windows 10 my internet connection via Realtek 8111F Gigabit LAN (built-in to my Asus P8Z77-M Pro motherboard) was lost. WiFi still worked. Had to revert to Windows 8.1. Anyone have a solution please?

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 2: Update Drivers

Try updating the Network Adapter drivers from the manufacturer's website and check if the issue persists.

Follow the steps to update the Network Adapter drivers:

  Press Windows key + X key and click Device Manager.
  
• 
  Expand Network Adapter.
  
• 
  Right-click on the Ethernet and click on Update driver software.
  
• 
  Restart the computer and check.
  

Method 2: Internet Connection Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Internet connection. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your internet.

Refer these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
  
• 
  Run the Internet Connection troubleshooter
  

If the issue persists, I suggest you to download and install the latest network drivers from your computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

Welcome to TenForums harveyr. Look at this tutorial. Changing to Private may have helped. I had to do that on my wife's PC, then it had internet access. Step 8

Thanks Dude. I had reverted to Wndows 8.1. Then I changed my network location to private. I also downloaded and installed the latest driver from Realtek's website, Then I downloaded and installed Windows 10 again - and Eureka it works.
