  1. Realtek Audio stops randomly for a second

    Hey TenForums!
I am posting my second thread here because I found your specialists are very good.

So my problem (the other one is fixed*Smile is this:

I have a Gigabyte GA-H81-D3 Motherboard with 16GB Ram and Realtek ALC887 audio.
The issue is that absolutely random - it can happen once in a day or 10 times in an hour my sound stops for a second. It just plays then mutes itself and after that continues. Thinks I've tried:

    1. Installing all drivers for this card - no help
    2. Disabling all enhancements - no help
    3. Windows 7/8.1 and now 10 - no help
    4. Disabling/enabling front audio jack panel detection (and popup) - no help

This problem occurs in Games, Watching Movies, Youtube, listening to music and basically - in everything.

Even Im considering buying another Sound card to check if the problem will persist.

Any ideas? I didn't find the same thread so I'm posting here.
Again - I'm sorry if I'm in wrong section but I didn't find an Audio subforum.

    Thanks in advance,
    Martin

    :)

  2. Distorted Sound

This has been happening for a while now, I can't remember when it started. While watching a video, the sound will randomly become distorted and slow. Then after a few seconds, the video will keep playing but the sound will completely stop. I normally just
restart the computer and it will work fine for a little but again the sound will become distorted. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Realtek driver to no avail. I have an HP Pavilion x360. It has two sound drivers. One that says High Definition Audio Device
and the other one says Realtek High Definition Audio. Please help. This has become very frustrating.

  3. Audio stops randomly Windows 10

    Hi,

I have Windows 10 on 2 different computers (1 laptop for work and 1 standalone for games and stuff) and I'm having the same problem on BOTH for quite some time (a few months).

The sound just stops randomly and I have to restart the Audio service to make it work again, or to reboot.

    I've tried ALL the solutions you can find on the Internet (it seems this problem is happening to a lot of people) ;

-Use different drivers (I tried them ALL, even on from 2013)

    -Do a "sfc /scannow"

    -Deactivate ALL sounds effects

    -Change the default audio format

-Uncheck the box "exlusive blabla" in the audio parameters

NONE worked. The sound is still blocking randomly.

I have a ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and i'm using the onboard sound card which is Realtek High definition audio.

Does anyone knows how to fix this please ??????

  5. Hello! Thanks for the fast reply!

I've checked my system with Latencymon for about 20 mins (Dunno how much is the optimal time).
Even when the app was checking my gf was watching a movie on the TV(HDMI connected) and no audio stops but she told me before I run the program there were such 'delays'

I am attaching a screenshot and a doc stats report from the program.

Also, I've checked my BIOS - is the latest version, drivers also.
And final question - If I disable CPU Throttling is there any problem with overheating, non-downclocking and etc. in games and apps (even though my i5 4460 doesnt reach more than 60-65 degrees)

  7. So I should use the Lasso to monitor my usage I guess?
Should I follow the steps recommended from LatencyMon and try to isolate the problem?

You should try to isolate the problem first, but if there is no viable solution, you can use Lasso. It is used to prioritize processes and it should prevents lags, theoretically.

  9. Okay, thank you.
I will try these recommended steps one by one and report asap when the problem is (IF IT IS) fixed.

  10. Hi again.

Currently running and continuing to run LatencyMon. The sound stopped only once for a 2 seconds a minute before the screenshot I'm attaching.

My Control panel settings are set to 100%/100% High performance CPU power.
Disabled in Bios SpeedStep and C1 (or such thing).

There are C3,C4 and etc. - should I disable them too and try again?

  11. An Update: Same old story - sound stopping/dropping out. Here is a screenshot.

I've reinstalled network controller, stopped all CPU Throttling in BIOS/Windows.. No idea what to do next.

Do you have Wi-Fi? That is a known cause, although not the only one.

  13. Realtek Audio stops randomly for a second

Nah, that PC is using only the integrated Realtek Lan Card.
I have an old Infeon that I used also but the problem was still there.

Can it be a faulty cable?

Are there any optional CODECS for your computers configuration and operating system that are not yet installed?
Can you check drive easy or another third party software program to see if there are any missing or better drivers?

Type control panel in the left lower corner search > click large or small icons > click troubleshooting > view the left pane and click on view all > run each of these troubleshooters:

    Hardware and devices
    Playing Audio
    Recording Audio
    Video Playback
For each click on advanced and make sure apply automatic fix is checked.
Click on view detailed information and post any findings that were fixed or were not able to be fixed.
Open audio enhancements on the Playing audio troubleshooter.
    Click on the advanced tab.
Play the test sounds to see if there is any lag.
Also use the test sound section on the troubleshooter and check for any lag in sound.

Another option is to place the computer in clean boot to make sure there are no other applications responsible for conflicts.

  15. Hi and thanks for the reply. So...

    1. No problems with all the troubleshooters. The only thing that I've disabled is the audio enhancements even thought they weren't turned on.
    2. I am attaching 3 screenshots to show you my startup settings, Ucheck statistics and Driver booster info.

For some reason Driver Easy doesnt start on this PC.. No Idea why
Now I will turn on some music and latency mon and monitor the lags.

Also I use KMPlayer so I havent installed third-party codecs. What is the best choice - CCCP, K-Lite, X?

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: After 5 mins of music - it happened again even though - no latency issues...
