Windows 10: Realtek Audio

Realtek Audio stopped working after a hard restart of my computer, and no device was available within the device manager. However I could uninstall via the program features. After looking up online, I tried forcing open the program by opening up programfiles\realtek\audio\hda - and none of the executables did anything.


So I followed guides, and uninstalled. Then I downloaded and ran multiple different Realtek audio driver downloads - install successful, system re-boot, the whole lot. I did this both from the Realtek website, and from my motherboard supplier website. I've tried both most recent files, and legacy files. Non have made any changes.


I noticed that my original realtek software was in programfiles, and now the installs are trying to use programfiles x86, but the installs give me no option to set a root path location...


Everytime I've attempted an install, I have checked device manager, and it has never re-appeared. After my 2nd attempt, I have also updated windows using the update tool to the most up to date possible.


Does anyone have any tips having encountered something similar before? Or does anyone have any additional methods I can try?

I had the realtek error when using the installer, so I did these step and It Worked

1.Go Open up device manager
2. Go under sound,video, and game controllers
3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
4. Right click and hit update driver
5. Browse my computer for driver software
6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.

Everyone that post ids, need just do these steps and you will be good. I kinda tired of keep on uploading the inf. file

additional if you want dts audio and others, install it now before next step.
After it is done, restart the PC
