Windows 10: Realtek driver utility loses default setting

I set the default output for Realtek HD Audio to Digital. Problem is it too often loses this setting. I make sure the default setting is correct each time I update the driver (currently 8105). But there are times when there is no sound and I find there's no longer any default output set. Anybody else have this problem? Found a cure?

Yes, it worked for me too!!! Uninstall the Realtek drivers and it automatically installs to defaults without the enhancements settings.

I uninstalled the Realtek drivers and used the Windows default drivers, then spatial audio was available. The Realtek drives reinstalled by default but I rolled back the driver to the previous version to get the Windows default driver to stick. You can uninstall
the Realtek driver and roll back the driver version in Device Manager, just search 'Device Manager' in Settings. In Device Manager, find your audio device under 'Sound, video and game controllers' or 'Audio inputs and outputs' - right click on the device name,
then choose Uninstall Device. You can then select 'Scan for hardware changes' under the Action menu item to install the Windows driver, after which it may install the manufacturer driver again - if it does that, right click to select Properties, then select
'Roll Back Driver' on the Driver tab.
