Windows 10: Realtek HD Audio console Equalizer doesn't work in games

After updating windows 10 to windows 11 i noticed that my sound is different when in games, while in programs like browser, etc the sound is normal with my current equalizer preset active. but when in game the equalizer doesnt seem to work changing preset still like <none> default preset. my realtek driver version is : 6.0.9452.1Windows 11 pro 22H2i already done the following:-downloading the latest realtek driver from my official motherboard manufacturer website-reinstalling audio driver -troubleshooting-turn on and off audio enhancement feature-changing the audio default formatsany s

Since you have pretty much the same setup I reckon that you are better qualified to help!

So it's better to uninstall EqualizerAPO before messing with Realtek drivers.

Two separate issues...

1) - The OP's Z390 board has a Realtek® ALC S1220A, which is in the same class as my Realtek® ALC1220-VB on my board Gigabyte Z390 board. The drivers for those should have an EQ included.

Additionally, if the drivers are UAD as mine are, you need to get the Realtek Audio Console from the Microsoft Store (for free) as described in this post - Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!

Here's my Gigabyte Z390 board with an ALC1220-VB Realtek chip....




2) - It's NOT that the OP doesn't have an EQ installed (thus no third party required) - it's that the current EQ has become un-responsive since a driver update...

Thus offering a "third party solution isn't solving the issue... it's just hiding it. With that I would suggest the OP post a screen shot of their EQ settings/page.

Hi everybody. Thank you very much for your support and sorry for not getting back to you earlier.

I will try following the guide from MoKiChU because all the other tests I have done (with APO) did not have any effect.

For your information, I share below a screenshot of the equalizer from Realtek:
