Windows 10: Realtek HD audio does not play sound.

Realtek HD audio does not play sound. I have mb with alc892 codec with 7.1 stereo sound. I tried all the realtek software for hd audio from thier hp, installed realtek hd audio controller for alc892, uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, but it does not play sound. The realtek driver is wokring but no sound. Please tell me how to ifx.

I would suggest you to try running Audio troubleshooter
and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps to run Audio troubleshooter.

  Type Troubleshooting in the Search area on the taskbar and select
  Troubleshooting.

  Select Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Select Playing Audio under
  Sound and follow the on screen.

Realtek HD Audio low and bad quality sound after Windows 10 upgrade

None of these tricks helped.

I had major issues playing games like World of Warcraft, I would alt-tab and the sound goes all jerky and distorted like a broken robot. It was really bad playing Facebook videos or anything while software could be using sound like games or other videos/ads.

Only thing that fixed it was new Realtek drivers but not ones on the Realtek website, the drivers listed at Softpedia.

Download Realtek HD Audio Driver 6.0.1.7786 for Windows 7, Windows 7 64 bit, Windows 8, Windows 8 64 bit, Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 64 bit, Windows 10, Windows 10 64 bit

Installed these as the catalog ones and Realteks are dated June 2015. Softpedia have later version from March 2016.

Works fine now

 

Realtek HD Audio Driver Issues?

Ok, I finally fixed the sound balance issue, so now it plays equally for both left and right speakers/earphones by playing around in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, but the audio sounds... so terrible. The bass is all off, and it doesn't sound like I'm using
earphones. I just can't explain it, it's so off, it gives me a headache just listening to music, and I have to switch back to the basic HD Audio Microsoft drivers. I wish I could give more info, but I'm just so confused.
