Windows 10: Realtek HD Audio Suddenly Stopped Working

I'm feeling a bit desperate which is why I'm posting here in the hope someone might be able to help. Yesterday I noticed the audio playback on my PC was strange, some things were playing as if from a far off distance, other sounds weren't playing at all. Then this morning I noticed when I played a Twitch stream I could hear the game audio perfectly, but the person speaking/playing could not be heard. I tested multiple random streams to see if was just them but the problem persisted; I could hear the audio from the game but not the audio of the person speaking.

I tried updating to latest Realtek drivers and instead of fixing the problem I lost audio entirely (except when I play test audio). I uninstalled Realtek entirely and windows automatically assigned *High Definition Audio Device* as my new default audio driver - however the audio through this is absolutely awful - it sounds tinny, echoey, distant, and barely intelligible. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Anyone have any tips or suggestions? I've tried rolling back to previous version of Realtek, but the problems persist.

I had the realtek error when using the installer, so I did these step and It Worked

1.Go Open up device manager
2. Go under sound,video, and game controllers
3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
4. Right click and hit update driver
5. Browse my computer for driver software
6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.
