    Realtek High Definition Audio has yellow triangle with exclamation point


    Just bought computer from someone HP ENVY 23 Beats Audio and they reset the computer prior to buying. Now audio wont work and it says no audio output device is installed. I've tried looking up how to fix it and saw that I needed the Realtek High Definition Audio and it wasn't on my computer in the device manager section so I downloaded the newest version of that off of their website. Now it is showing a yellow triangle with a question mark on it in the device manager section and at the bottom corner is still saying that no audio output device is installed. Computer is using windows 10 20H2

    Hello! i installed realtek and now it has a yellow triangle. I can't update it, if i do it says "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date. Realtek High Definition Audio" Any help? I am using window's 10.

    Thank you, Andre, for your suggestions. I did try scanning for hardware changes in device manager. I also uninstalled the driver and then reinstalled a driver as you suggested for "High Definition Audio Device". Your website regarding ISO files is very
    interesting. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 3847 and has Windows 10 Pro Creator 1703. Updates are automatically downloaded and installed in my computer. Since the audio on my computer appears to be normal, perhaps I should just try to ignore the yellow exclamation
    point that precedes "High Definition Audio Device" and the Code 10 message. My knowledge about audio is very limited, but I am assuming that perhaps "Realtec Audio" is all that is needed for the type of work I do on my computer. Again, thank you for your suggestions.

    There are few reasons why you're seeing a yellow triangle on your audio driver. The driver could be corrupted, or it's not compatible with the OS and build of your computer. For us to determine what would be causing this, we would like to know more about
    this issue. Kindly answer the following:

    • Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using?
    • Are you experiencing the same issue on other user profile?
    • Have you tried to roll back the audio driver to its previous build?
