Windows 10: Realtek network adapter constantly disconnecting

Device: ASUS TUF Gaming 505DT
Network adapter: Realtek 8821CE
Duration: Happened occasionally for a period of 2-3 months but - since the past week - happens multiple times a day. Only resolved by constantly restarting the laptop.
Solutions attempted: Every step here

I've also tried connecting to multiple different connections and the same issue happens. It disconnects from the internet and doesn't detect any present connections at all. Troubleshooting recommends restarting the laptop which works for a period of time but the issue repeats.

How to Dump Networking Parameters?


Had a customer with this problem, they had a brand new Dell Optiplex 3050, with Windows 10 1709, and Realtek Gbit Family of lan adapters (wired connection). After much troubleshooting (many suggestions listed in the course of this thread), it turned out the PC needed a bios update. Among the updates listed on the dell website for bios version 1.52 (I flashed it with the latest 1.92) was "Update RealtekLOM".

LOM is "lan on motherboard" and the Realtek has flashable firmware.

One step for others having this issue is to check their computer manufacturer's website for "Lom" firmware updates for the particular network adapter - whether integrated or an add-in.

Method 2: Download and install the latest firmware updates for the Network adapter

Follow these steps to un-install the drivers:

• On the search bar type “ Device Manager”
• On the left pane locate “Network Adapter” and expand by clicking on it
• Right on the “ Network driver” option and click “Uninstall’
• Download the latest Wireless network adapter driver setup file from the manufacturer’s website and install it.

PC Keeps Disconnecting From Network

Sounds like power management.

1. Open Device Manager.
2. Find your Wi-Fi Adapter under Network Adapters and right-click on it.
3. Choose Properties then see if there's a Power Management tab.
4. If so, select the tab and remove any tick in the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power checkbox.
5. OK any change and close the dialog; close Device Manager.
