Windows 10: Realtek not communicating with Win 10 sound settings.

I have NTB, Acer Spin 5, 4 pin 3.5 mm jack audio plug in and built-in speakers. When I plug in my headset, My realtek interface asks me, which device I had plugged in. No matter, that I choose headset, my sound settings does not change neither does show another playback device. When I connect bluetooth headset, sound settings does show two devices bluetooth headset and built-in speakers and I can choose between them, But when I plug in my headset, it does play thru them, but they have awfull sound - which they did not used to have, and they does not apear in settings, so I am unable to configurate them or make them prefered used device. What am I supposed to do? Please help. All answer would be appreciated. Even though you will think that I am uneducated I have not used Windows device maybe for six years and Win 10 is like punch in the face for me.

Sound card amplification settings

Yeah unfortunately ASUS and Realtek are not stepping up and fixing this it seems. Wherever I see such problems mentioned on forums some users are suggesting just uninstalling the Realtek driver and using the Windows audio driver.

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.

For those who just need to enable Dolby Digital Live 5.1 for your realtek sound card here is complete manual. Works for me in Win 10 Creators update (1703). Easy installation if you do not need these Dolby things just allow DDL 5.1

You also need to enable Test mode before installation of the driver.

Enable Test mode:

Step 1. Open the Windows command promt as "Run as Administrator".

Step 2. Run "bcdedit -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" (without the "").

Step 3. To finalize the process run "bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON" (without the "").

Step 4. Reboot and you're done.

To disable it do step 1 and run these commands on step 2 and 3:

Step 2. "bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS" (without the "")

Step 3. "bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF" (without the "")

Then do step 4 and you're done.

Then you can continue to installation of the driver.
