Windows 10: RealTek RTL8168/8111 (Asus K55VM) driver for Windows 10

Hi,

I got a Asus K55VM laptop with a RealTek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E ethernet card in it. I'm trying to install Windows 10 (20H2) on this laptop.

Unfortunately, there seems driver problem as the device ("Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller") is shown with a warning symbol in the Device Manager.

Device status is the following:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The requested operation was unsuccessful.

The error occurs at the Device start step "Device not started (rt640x64)":

Can somebody help me figure out this RealTek RTL8168/8111 driver issue?

Till now I tried a couple of different drivers (7.x, 8.x, 10.x) downloaded from the Asus website and from the bellow page:
Realtek network drivers for RTL8168/8111 and Windows 10 64bit

I'm not planning to use Etherner, but unfortunately, this issue seems to be the root cause for a more severe one
Windows 10 on Asus K55VM: Shutdown / Restart / Sleep issue

Note: it is not a hardware problem. The ethernet works fine in other OS (ex. Ubuntu).

Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E NIC Ethernet Adapter Driver does not work in Windows 10

I'm so lucky I got to find this out today. Driver 8.18.621.2013 was installed on my 8.1 machine and failed to work after updating to 10. Used another computer (thank god I hadn't updated it!) to get the driver again from Dell and Realtek, installed both
with no success. Bought a USB Ethernet dongle and during installation I noticed it installed the same Realtek driver! Of course it failed too and I sadly had to revert back to 8.1. I would consider buying another Ethernet card, but I don't trust Microsoft's
Compatability engine because it claims the Realtek RTL8168/8111 PCI-E NIC Ethernet Adapter is compatible. Maybe that's true, but the driver ain't. Thanks Microsoft for the colossal waste of time. I thought you were making a comeback, but it's more like a last
hurrah. Too bad.

Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.
