    Hi

    I bought this adapter for my son, but he has constant frustrations with the connection dropping out fairly reguarly.

    Signal strength and Link Quality are generally around 100%


    I was using the Realtek driver, but I have now changed this using Windows - so is now using a Microsoft driver. Both exibit the same issues.


    I set up a separate 5Ghz network on my router, so I could connect to that network manually - but the PC wont connect to that network and so sits on the 2.4Ghz network.


    It's got a Wifi extender between the PC and the router, but in actual fact the PC isn't that far from the router anyway.


    Any ideas to help troubleshoot?

    I don't have better steps - this is all, I have nothing to add.

    Maybe it is worth noting issue was on Windows 10 Enterprise, build 14393.187, so maybe you should test on the same.
    My other PCs have a different Windows 10 version - Pro, latest Insider Preview build from last week, and there is no such issue on those.
    All are 64-bit edition of Windows 10.

    This issue is not new. I have had same 1-2 years ago too, with older GPU-Z versions.

    EDIT: And yes, I have Windows 10 UAC enabled and set to defaults. If you are using your Windows PCs with UAC off, you likely cannot reproduce this issue. *Smile Realtek RTL8812BU Windows 10 64 Bit issues :)

    Sound issues Windows 10 64-bit

    I've tried these suggested steps multiple times and it did not help.

    Then I've made a clean installation (erased/formated everything on my HDD) of Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit and upgraded immediately to Windows 10 at the end of the installation of win 8.1.

    After that sound was fine (only GPU drivers manually installed and no other manually downloaded drivers) but then after 2 or 3 restarts sound was gone again.

    I then updated the driver/codec (i have Realtek ALC892) with Realtek Audio Codecs R2.79 and for now it did the trick.

    Hope it will solve the problem in the long term. Stay tuned (-;
