Windows 10: Realtek Surround Sound issue in Windows 11 Home 22H2 22621.2134

Dear reader,I re-installed the os. Realtek Audio manager was pre-installed. After using HP cloud recovery tool it wasn't.I used it to assign a role to the three audio jacks.When you run mmsys.cpl configuration sound and select speakers and select configure then there is only the option stereo and not 5.1 and 7.1How do I get Surround Sound working again?

Just upgraded to latest Windows 10. Surround sound is not on audio channel menu. Only "stereo" is listed. Surround sound is also now not working on ONKYO receiver. Windows says I have latest sound driver.

All other help messages talk about realtek. I just have what came with Dell computer.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

If you’re connecting an optical cable the settings would be changed so try the following steps

Two options:

1. Use the optical S/PDIF output of your motherboard.

2. Use the HDMI output of your GPU. (This is what I'd recommend if you're using a HDMI display).

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Go to control panel.

  Select sound.
  
• 
  Click on playback devices.
  

For option 1- connect the cable and set the 'Realtek digital output' as default device.

  Then right click on it.
  
• 
  Go to properties.
  
• 
  At the rightmost tab select DTS or Dolby Digital or 5.1.
  

For option 2-connect the HDMI cable through the receiver and set the 'Nvidia HDMI Output' as your default device. Then click 'Configure' and select 5.1 and check if it helps.

If the issue persist then, I suggest you to connect the speakers directly and check in the realtek audio manager if he gets the 5.1 option or not using the SPDIF\output.

Sound Problem with Windows 11 22H2 Realtek

I can not by any means get sound from my speakers which answer to the Realtek driver. I do get sound from my monitor speakers, which answer to the Intel driver. I have found nothing on Google which has helped, and things I used to do in the past no longer work. I have seen many sources which say that windows 11 22H2 has sound issues. This is clearly true in my experience.

My question is this...is there anybody out there who can help me with this problem? The sound quality of the monitor speakers is inferior to the sound from the external speakers when they work. In my apps I have listed MaxxAudioPro. Should I get rid of this? I am not computer savvy to speak of, though about a week ago I re-installed Windows 11 using an .iso file and the setup.exe method. This idea came to me from Microsoft Answers and worked to repair a stubborn problem. With this in mind I am asking if anybody out there can help me. I REALLY would like to use my external speakers as my default. I would welcome any help I can get.
