Windows 10: Rear Mic Port No Longer Showing Up

I normally use the rear mic port of my PC for game audio from consoles, as I would use an aux cord to plug from the console monitor to the rear port, and then I set the mic to output what it hears. However, recently the port just stopped working. At first, the port did show up, but my PC didn't think anything was plugged into the port. This made me wonder if the aux was faulty, so I tested it on the front mic port and it worked fine. Because of this, I decided to restart my PC and try again. When I got back in, the rear port didn't show up anywhere, not in the control panel, not in the volume mixer, and not even in the device manager.


I'd prefer if I didn't have to use the front port because it has a bit of idle static that gives me a headache, so it'd be great if I could get the rear port working again. Thanks!

Rear audio ports always show as “Not plugged in”


I've been having this issue with Windows for about a week now which NONE of the back panel/front panel connectors (speakers, microphone) are being recognized by Realtek audio manager. The only audio input/outputs that are showing are the optical.
Troubling shooting steps I've tried (none worked):

• COMPLETELY uninstall all Realtek drivers/reinstall
  
• Tried using windows drivers
  
• Reinstall Windows 10
  
• Upgraded chipset driver
  
• sfc /scannow

I called EVGA and asked for RMA but then I booted into a Ubuntu OS and all the ports work FINE. It must be a problem with windows 10.
Can you think of any other troubling shooting step I can try to fix this annoying issue? Thanks!

After looking in Device Manager under Audio inputs and outputs, I don't see any speaker/microphone listings, only the optical crap:

Hmm, this is pretty odd; it still doesn't work at all. I think the issue is that the rear input just isn't responding ever since I updated. Not even headphones operate with it; and the other jack doesn't even list that it even has an input jack. This is
pretty odd.

Oh, and Device Manager says all my drivers are up to date. This is pretty screwy for me, because I've got a recording I promised a friend I'd do sooner or later. So yeah, if there's any other advice you can give that'd be much appreciated! I'll try and screenshot
everything.

Oh, and the webcam microphone isn't the one I'm trying to use. The one I'm trying to use is a Sampson CS mic with an XLR Port adapter for
computer use. It used to work in the rear input mic port before I installed windows 10 though. Now it'll only operate in the front mic port which is kinda far from preferable, I've got enough huge long dangling cords in my face already..

Though the mic'll still work if it's plugged into the front panel. But, the chord is pretty thick; and it'll be a nuisance to have it draped over my keyboard all the time. So, if anyone can tell me how to change the "Microphone" device jack into the rear
jack; or how to get the "Line In" to work with my microphone again, that'd be much appreciated!
