Windows 10: Rebind Xbox Series X/S Controller Share button

Hello.I found an article saying you can now rebind share button for this controller https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/accessories/controller-share-button but I don't have the option to rebind the share button itself.I gave feedback on this support article but I still want to be able to rebind my share button to something else.I have tried updating Xbox Accessories app and my controllers firmware.

Pin to Quick Resume

You can now pin up to two games in Quick Resume on your Xbox Series X|S console. Anywhere you see your Quick Resume games, you can select a title, press the Menu button , and choose Pin to Quick Resume. Your pinned games will only drop out of Quick Resume if you manually remove them, or if a game takes a mandatory update.

Share button remapping

We’ve provided the ability to remap the Share button  on the Xbox Wireless Controller and assign a wide range of custom actions. The updated Xbox Accessories app on your console or Windows device unlocks new button remapping actions for Xbox accessories, including Share button  remapping for actions such as mute TV, open friends list, open achievements, and many others. The ability to redefine your controller actions also provides a way to easily enable assistive technologies for gamers with disabilities.

The latest Xbox controller device firmware is now available on your console or Windows device. This release includes fixes and updates that deliver performance improvements to Xbox One controllers with Bluetooth support, the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and the Xbox Adaptive Controller.

New audio setup wizard

Now you can use a new guided audio setup wizard for your HDMI devices, available in Settings under General > Volume & audio output > Audio setup. The audio setup wizard lets you test and verify your HDMI audio format, test all your speakers connected to your Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, and configure the best possible settings for your unique A/V setup.

Controllers

We’ve received reports that some users’ controllers are randomly losing sync or disconnecting from the console. If you encounter this behavior, be sure to report this issue after reconnecting.

Provide feedback to Team Xbox

Some users have reported that the Xbox button  on the Razer Turret keyboard is not working to access the guide.

Workaround: Either the Windows logo key  or Windows key  + X can be used instead of the Xbox button  to access the guide.

Games

Some players have reported that when returning to a Quick Resume title, their controller isn’t responding in the game. Quitting and relaunching the game will resolve this.

There’s an issue in which the audio mixer may not be adjustable.

The icon for disc-based titles isn’t appearing on the dashboard for some players.

HDMI-CEC

Some players have reported that HDMI-CEC isn’t working correctly. Ensure that your TV supports HDMI-CEC and that it’s enabled. If the issue persists, report the problem.

Some games might appear with an incorrect “Trial” tag in My games & apps.

TV display

Some users have reported that the console is displaying at the incorrect resolution when first turned on. If you encounter this behavior, submit feedback via Report a Problem and be sure to include the make/model of your TV/display in the description. After submitting your feedback, follow the workaround below.

Workaround: Restarting the console via the Power menu (holding down the Xbox button  displays the power menu) should resolve the behavior.

Pin to Quick Resume

Quick Resume is powered by the technical capabilities of the innovative Xbox Velocity Architecture in Xbox Series X|S. It lets you seamlessly switch between multiple games and resume gameplay instantly from where you left off. With this update, you can now pin up to two games in Quick Resume on your Xbox Series X|S consoles. Your pinned games will only drop out of Quick Resume if you manually remove them or if a game takes a mandatory update.

Anywhere you see your Quick Resume group, you can select a game, press the Menu button, and choose Pin to Quick Resume. If you already have two games pinned, you’ll be asked which pin you want to replace.

Xbox Wireless Controller – Share Button Remapping

The Share button on the Xbox Wireless Controller lets you take a screenshot by tapping it or record a video clip by holding it down for a couple seconds.

If you like to customize, you can now remap the Xbox Wireless Controller Share button and assign a wide range of custom actions. The updated Xbox Accessories app unlocks new button remapping actions for Xbox accessories, including Share button remapping for other actions like mute TV, open friends list, open achievements, and many others. The ability to redefine your controller actions also provides a way to easily enable assistive technologies for gamers with disabilities. App Compatibility for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S Consoles

UWP applications (both apps and games) are a pivotal part of the Xbox experience. As we near the launch of the new console generation, we want to address some common questions regarding app and game development on the new Xbox family of consoles. If you have been developing for the Xbox One X using UWP and leveraging the Dev Mode Activation App, the same features will be supported on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. FAQs:

Will my current UWP app or game continue running on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

Yes, apps and games running on the Xbox One should continue to run at parity on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The underlying platform APIs and codecs that UWP apps are built on have been tested and validated with key scenarios by Microsoft and through thousands of hours of usage in our internal Xbox flighting program. These APIs and codes are supported on the new Xbox family of consoles. When the new Xbox family of consoles is released, we recommend doing additional validation of your UWP app or game on the chosen device if desired.

How can I verify that my UWP app or game is working on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

Devkits are not publicly available. UWP application developers should continue to rely on the Dev Mode Activation App used on the Xbox One X to convert their retails consoles into a development kit to test for compatibility As the same APIs and codecs are used between the Xbox One X and the new Xbox family of consoles, an app that works on the Xbox One X should continue to work on the new Xbox family of consoles

When the new Xbox family of consoles are available in retail, app partners can rely on Dev Mode Activation App to convert those consoles into a development kit.

Do I need to change or rewrite my application from the current UWP application?

No app development changes are required for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. You use the same SDK, build environments, and UWP APIs to develop your applications. The same publishing process for UWPs on the Xbox One will continue to apply for the new Xbox family of consoles.

Are there any features my app can take advantage of for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

We focused our efforts on backwards compatibility for apps on our new Xbox family of consoles to make it easier for our partners and enable a seamless transition for your app from the Xbox One generation to the next generation of Xbox consoles. This means that all of your favorite apps will carry over to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on day 1.

We currently do not have additional features for apps on the new Xbox family of consoles that are not already a part of the Xbox One X.

Will I need to sign a new agreement to bring my Xbox One UWP application to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

No, the existing Store App Developer Agreement terms will continue to cover distribution for apps on the new Xbox family of consoles. No additional agreements are required to run your app on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Will my app show that it supports the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on the Store?

Yes, Microsoft will list the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as a platform on the Store PDP. No additional work is required from the app partner to add in Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S listing to the Store
