    Rebuilt win7 laptop will not detect/run malware removal tool


    I have a win7x64 laptop that recently had a severe software corruption, and had to be re-built. After the re-build, it will not detect detect or run the malware removal tool during the monthly update cycle, even when manually commanded to do so. Prior to the rebuild, that was not a problem.Attached screenshots:1. the updates page after check for updates has been commanded and completed2. the updates configuration3.     Windows Defender isnt removing malware

    Hi Jude,

    The Malwarebytes links in my prior reply do work for me...

    Suggestion to run some more scans with one or the other tool mentioned in this article:

    List of Malware Removal Tools

    I'd start with No. 3: Emsisoft Emergency Kit

    Hi There,

    I am trying to remove a bundle of Malware without success.

    There is a bundle of listed programs which I try to uninstall through the typical Control Panel effort, but they remain listed there:

    Buenosearch Toolbar
    MyPC Backup
    PC Performer
    Speed Test 127
    UnknownFile

    I was looking at this weblink which provides a 5 step process for Buenosearch alone:

    Not sure how much certain guides can be trusted. One of the first things I read was to download Revo Uninstaller, and I've not heard of it so I'm not sure if it's trustworthy..........
