    Hello,I was getting the Blue screen WDF_VIOLATION every day and it required my computer to restart. I updated all my windows drivers as well as my audio interface Focusrite.The blue screen is no longer happening but:Now every time I play an audio, youtube or any other source windows media- It sounds terrific until about every 16 seconds there is a big glitch in the audio for a full second. It sounds like a buzzing like an old radio that would have a short in in it. lasts for one second and then back to perfect sounds for another 16 seconds. Often but not always when an audio starts.

    I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down to the issue.


    • What is the make and model of the computer?

    • When exactly you have received this error?

    • Did you receive any code numbers or values along with this issue?

    • Did you make any changes to the computer recently

    • Are you able to access the desktop?
    This issue may arise due to the following reasons:


    • Corrupted device drivers.

    • Corruption in Windows registry.

    • Driver conflicts.

    • Damaged hard disk.
    It could be better, if I get the exact error code or value to provide advance troubleshooting steps.

    As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to download and install any pending updates that needs to be installed on the computer through Windows update and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    Blue screen error: APC_INDEX_MISMATCH when trying to install Audio driver

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

    I apologize for the delayed response.

    We can try to use an alternate audio driver and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
      Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
    3. Right click on Realtek Audio and select
      Update Driver.
    4. Select Browse my computer for Driver Software.
    5. In the next screen, select Let me pick from a list of available drivers.
    6. Check the box Show Compatible Hardware and select
      High Definition Audio Device.
    7. Click on Yes if you get any prompt.
    If you do not see any change, you can use Update Driver option and Search automatically to revert to Realtek driver.

    In case you receive any Blue Screen error, please share the minidump files with us.

    • When exactly you have received this error? Yesterday after the windows update

    • Did you receive any code numbers or values along with this issue? Just got a blue screen that said "we're collecting information,we'll restart for you"

    • Did you make any changes to the computer recently Just installed Office 2007 under compatibility mode

    • Are you able to access the desktop? Yes,after it restarted.
