Windows 10: Received a text message from legit microsoft number regarding data change. How to prevent...

Hello, I received a text message, from a number generally used by microsoft to send my pass codes via text. The message stated the following: "Microsoft: The security info for *** Email address is removed for privacy *** is being replaced to..." then it lists a phone number. Neither the email address nor the phone number is mine. I am not sure what to make of it since the microsoft phone number looks legit and I've received passcodes from it in the past. I logged into my account and I saw several attempts in various locations around the world trying to access my microsoft account, all unsuccessful. I've changed my pass

Can't send/receive text message.

Hi Josh,

We would suggest performing the following:

• Soft resetting the phone by holding the volume down button and power button simultaneously until phone vibrates and shuts off, remove SIM card and insert back before turning it ON.
  
• The date and time may be incorrect after restarting your phone. To set the time correctly, go to Settings >
  Time & language > Date & time
• Check the signal strength on the phone screen, and move to an area with better reception.
• Send a text message to your own mobile phone number. This will test your sending and receiving capabilities in one go.
  
• Check the SMS center number (Messaging > ... > settings >
  SMS center number). If the number is missing or you think it is incorrect, confirm the number with your network operator.
• If you have Multi-SIM (two SIM cards with the same mobile phone number), note that some text messages can only be received on your assigned primary SIM card.

If the previous steps do not help, insert a different operator SIM card into your phone to verify that the phone is working properly.

Received text messages only having the number

Hi



My x6 has just recently only showing the number not the person who sent the text message. Ive tried checking the memory list and what is showing. The sent texts still shows the name as I would want it. Just the received.



Any advice would be greatly appreciated as its now quite annoying!!

Change text message's to: number

I have "secret" phone number so I't doesn't show to receiver at all, but I can send my number using *31# in front of actual number... So I have contacts that have two numbers with *31# and without.... But when sending txt message it tries to use this *31#
number and text messages don't go anywhere... Is there anyway to change text message number within numbers in contacts... I have noticed that when I have two numbers without this *31# I can choose which number to use... but not with that..
