A small blue window came up & said download 10 & install at a later date.

I clicked it, the download started, finished & it started to "Upgrade", which I did not want. Does it mean that will not be able to upgrade later on?

Where did the download go, can't find it any where.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Sleep Mode-Won't Wake Up Require power cycle restart

This started after the last W10 update on my desktop. This seem to be a big widespread problem. Already tried manually updating every driver in Device Manager. This is a frustrating problem. Lets hope MS will offer a solution very soon.

    Windows 10 Version 1709

    Hi Wheels of Fire.

The thought has crossed my mind...

My desktop was upgraded from W7.

I also have a laptop. But this laptop has a "clean install" of W10 Home. The W10 software was purchased from microsoft store and installed from the USB stick received from them.

Both the Laptop and the Desktop have...

    W10 Home Edition

    Version 1709

    OS Build 16299.125.

I get the same messages from both machines. I therefore do not think that it is an upgrade issue.

    I hope this helps.

Look in C:\$Windows.~BT or C:\$Windows.~WS. Look for install.esd in the Sources folder under either of these.

You have to show Hidden files and folders in folder options to see them.

If you "Check for updates" in Windows Update it will probably re-appear. A much better option, when you want to upgrade, is to use the "Upgrade this PC now" option of the Windows Media Creation Tool:

    Thanx,

    I'll try.

I also found here " CNTRL PANEL/SYSTEM & SECURITY?WINDOWS UPDATE, click CHECK FOR UPDATES" that I can start the download & soon comes "Upgrade to W10".

Because it is a Windows 8 key that you are trying to install Windows 10 with. My wife's Mazda 5 won't start with my Mazda 3 key.

Why are you installing it again? Is it on the same computer? Are you doing a Clean Install? If so, click Skip when asked for a key.
