Windows 10: Recent documents in Windows 10

I really really really need recent documents back in Windows 10. Preferably off of the start menu. I know Windows 10 has recent items, but this isn't the same as recent documents. Previous versions of Windows had recent documents, which I used virtually every day as I do a lot of documentation for our team. Recent items shows things that aren't documents, so it will clutter up the list with things I don't need quick access to. I have searched all over online for a solution and the only thing I can find that really works is Classic Shell. If there is another option I would like to know what it is. Otherwise I will probably have to install Classic Shell.

How to find a list of Recent Documents in Windows 10

Hi,

Recent document option has been removed on Windows 10. Instead, on Windows 10 you have an option recent files. To access it, follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + E.
• Under File Explorer, select Quick access.
• Now, you will find a section Recent files which will display all the recently viewed files/documents.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Re-enabling recent documents

An update with auto-patcher disabled the recent documents under start menu in windows Xp. Any way to get it back?
Also how can I set it to show only recently viewed text documents.
