Windows 10: Recent files and folders

When I select Home in Windows Explorer, I suddenly lost Quick Access and Recents in the right pane. When I go to settings>personalization>start, instead of "Show recently used files in Start, Jump Lists, and File Explorer" I see "Show recommended files in Start, recent files in File Explorer, and Jump Lists". In Explorer folder options Privacy section, I don't have "Show recommended files" to uncheck. Is there some global setting that is changing what I see? Are those other choices from a different version of Windows 11? Help, please.

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

that's all off already dude lol, I'm really surprised there is no fix for the recent files list/MRU in the file menu of programs haha

I appreciate the help, MS really needs to implement a Group Policy or a string that can do that for all programs installed

 

Pinned & Recent Folder Missing From Explorer in Start
