    Hi,A recent Windows update has effectively bricked my laptop twice now. After it installs, the processor goes to 100% and the laptop starts freezing up or crashes. Upon restart, the logo appears and that's it, only black screen afterwards. The first time I had to manually turn it off by pressing the power button. After doing this three times in a row in attempt to resurrect the laptop, I got a message that "Windows could not be deployed" and some options appeared. But any sort of repair required account password, which kept being reported as wrong even after I went to my Microsoft account and

    I know this is going to blow your mind, but I've had bios bricks and I do laptop refurbs for a living. It happens... Particularly when the flash program is windows only and drivers are amuck.

    To better understand your query, please reply:

    1. What do you mean by "top row not working" not working? Are you referring to keyboard top row keys?

    I would suggest you to go to the safe mode and see if the problem persists.

    To go to Safe mode follow the steps below:

    • Click on Windows key, and in the Power Options click on Restart while pressing the shift key.

    • A blue screen will appear with a few options.

      Click on Troubleshoot > Advanced Settings > Startup Settings > Restart.

    • Your system will automatically restart, press 4 or F4 key to go to the Safe Mode.
