Windows 10: Recent Windows 10 update and RDP multi-monitor issues

I have been using RDP to connect to my work laptop for years. It has been working fine until an update a few months ago. Now I'm experiencing a weird issue which I will describe below.I have a customized RDP file with the following setting. That allows me to use only 3 of the 4 monitors.selectedmonitors:s:0,1,2For years, when I launch the RDP file, the right 3 monitors would be used and the left-most 4th monitor will not be used. Windows 10 KB3213986 Update Cripples Multi-monitor Gaming

The recent Cumulative Update for Windows 10 (KB3213986) cripples multi-monitor gaming, looking at the way Microsoft worded its "known issues" text. After the update is applied, users with multi-monitor setups could experience screen stuttering or clipped screens when running 3D apps on machines with more than one monitor. The only workaround Microsoft suggests for now entails running your 3D apps in non-fullscreen modes, such as windowed-maximized (pseudo-fullscreen) or windowed modes. Microsoft also goes as far as to suggest that people with multi-monitors could try starting their 3D apps with just one monitor connected.

"Users may experience delayed or clipped screens while running 3D rendering apps (such as games) on systems with more than one monitor," the change-log for the KB3213986 update reads. "To work around this issue please consider the following options: 1. Running the application in Windows mode (not full screen), or 2. Starting the application with only one monitor connected," it adds. The update effectively cripples multi-monitor gaming, using technologies such as AMD Eyefinity or NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround.

Windows 10 Pro RDP Multi-Monitor Access

Hi Peter,

This might be compatibility and limitation issues. Since you have two different operating system, one is Windows 10 Pro and the other one is Windows 10 Home, they may have different limitations and restrictions when it comes to using it in remote desktop.
It might also be an issue with monitor spanning. You can check these articles and see if it can help you in resolving the issue:

RDP with a subset of loral monitors on Windows 10

Hi folks!

I found the article RDP settings for multi-monitor set up to use subset of monitors for RDP session,
written by an user who has Windows 7.

But it doesn't seem to work with Windows 10, the RDP session is opened with all of my 3 screens. And
mstsc /l doesn't work.

Did anyone manage to display a RDP session on two of three (or more) screens, with Windows 10?
