Recent windows 10 update screwed up sound drivers...

I have followed all the instructions after the latest update forced by windows update. This is the first time updates has screwed the pooch since I upgraded to windows 10, at least, this badly. If I roll it back, I can force it to reinstall the Sound Blaster Zx driver it corrupted, but, only from the windows update site. If I try to put it in using the creative.com sites driver, it gives me:

Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1102&DEV_0011&SUBSYS_11020023&REV_1009\5&2f1ef8db&6&0101 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match.

    Last Device Instance Id: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1102&DEV_000D&SUBSYS_11020043&REV_1000\5&304cb0df&0&0101

    Class Guid: {4d36e96c-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}

    Location Path:

    Migration Rank: 0xF000FFFFFF28F000

    Present: false

    Status: 0xC0000719

I need my audio to work. Or do I have to finally take the plunge and go with a program Linux who's creators actually will fix issues they create, and it only takes them days, instead of never fixing the issues.

I have attempted to do the same thing I did last time after doing a system restore to remove the latest update on 6/4/2020, I do believe that was the date for it. However, it continues to come back. I had to spend over 4 hours fixing the system to get a generic windows sound blaster z driver working.

Now, after the forced update, yet again, I have spent over 3 hours, doing every single fix I could find, next to buying a separate, non-microsoft program to fix Microsoft's issues, because Microsoft apparently can't.!?!

I only didn't restore it again, because, Microsoft will just force yet another update of the failed corrupt issue in a few days, making me even more upset. How do I fix your screw up? I tried sfc, I tried uninstalling the driver multiple times, including removing the software from Windows. I tried reinstalling the software from the manufacturer of the card, Windows refuses to use/see it now after this update!!!

    HOW CAN I FIX THIS?!?!?!?!?!?

    :)

Windows sound not playing after recent Win10 Update

    Hi all,

    Symptom:
Since last windows update, windows doesn't play the windows sounds: Startup, UAC sound, exclamation, warning, notifications, etc.

Note: Other sounds, like games, videos, calls are working well.

I use SoundBlaster Z series sound card. Their recent driver update release notes lists that the driver is fixing this issue.

    Actions taken:
    Removed the driver completely
    rebooted
    Reinstalled the driver

    Results:
After initial boot and subsequent restarts, the windows sounds play well.
After a computer shutdown and startup - the above symptom is introduced again, i.e., windows sounds don't play anymore.

I've repeated the steps above and ended up with the same problem.

    Can anyone please assist?

    Win10 Pro
    Version 1909
    OS Build 18363.657

    Thanks.

The Ultimate Realtek HD Audio Driver Mod for Windows 10

I had the realtek error when using the installer, so I did these step and It Worked

    1.Go Open up device manager
    2. Go under sound, video, and game controllers
    3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
    4. Right click and hit update driver
    5. Browse my computer for driver software
    6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
    7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
    8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
    9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
    10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.
