Windows 10: Recent Windows 10 Version 2004 still not right

I have an older desktop PC that ran the Windows 7 Professional OS, which I upgraded to all Windows 10 versions, from the first issue through Version 1909, without any problems. I kept receiving the familiar "The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way...", and had to wait for Version 2004 till mid-August, because the computer has the NVIDIA GeoForce 6150SE nForce 430 Display Adapter card the driver is the latest one that's available, i.e., up to date: dated 01/20/2015; version 9.18.13.908. According to the "Learn more" page at Microsoft, they were working with NVIDIA on resolving this problem.


So, last Monday, August 17, when I checked for updates, Windows 10 Version 2004 was finally available to download and install. Being eager to update to the new version, I immediately started the process, which took quite a while, and eventually completed without a hitch. When the computer restarted for the final time after the installation, I noticed right away that something was wrong with the display. One problem was that the display was flickering at a fairly rapid rate. Another problem was that the color scheme displayed on the monitor was different. Still another problem was that in trying to use Windows Explorer, images of previous windows didn't completely disappear.


Clearly, whatever Microsoft and NVIDIA did to "patch" Version 2004 to make it suitable for the legacy Display Adapter has some bugs that make it unacceptable. Consequently, I rolled back to Version 1909 and hope that Microsoft will fix the problem.


Has anyone else in the community had similar issues with this "delayed" Version 2004?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Having problem update to Windows 10, version 2004

Step 3:
