    Recently I have got problem with erase / rectangular cut Function in the Paint.


    When I try to cut or erase something in Paint, the white background too getting removed leaving a ckeck background.How can I remedy it? Please tell me.

    We realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Paint greyed out option in Windows 10. We will certainly help you.

    • How exactly are you opening the pictures in Paint?
    • Have you tried to copy and paste the pictures in paint and check?

    We suggest you to once try copy the picture and then paste it in paint and check if you are able to use the cut option.

    To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

    • Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:
    • Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
    • Click OK.
    • Verify if you're using Paint or Paint 3D.
    • Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?

    Here s a partial solution. Works for Windows 10 as well.

    Paint - Delete Recent Pictures from List in Windows - Windows 7 Help Forums

    This will clear it but of not disable list ie you would have to do again later etc.
