    Recently my desktop PC has gone, I thought, into Screen Saver then locked up and subsequently,


    trying to get out of the black screen with the error message that a problem has stopped screen saver from working, I have encountered the system being locked up and having to do CTRL+ALT+DELETE to trigger Task Manager that still takes several minutes to wake up or do something so the system is operable. I finally found the screen saver mode in SETTINGS and shut it off. The system is now much better but I have to remember to turn off my screen since I do not have a screen saver. There is a reason why it is called a "screen saver" and that is to prevent damage to your computer screen because

    Hi Jim,

    The issue you encountered with screen saver can be due to incorrect screen saver settings. To better isolate your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

    • Have you tried changing the screen saver settings?
    • Are you trying to off the the screen saver?

    Meanwhile, you can follow these steps to turn off your screen saver:

    • Open Settings and Select Personalization.
    • Click Lock screen, scroll down and choose Screen saver settings.
    • Choose None in the drop-down menu.
    • Select Apply.
    • Click OK.

    Windows Remote Desktop: Can't re-login after screen-saver auto lock

    Hi, I have a problem where I cannot re-login into remote machine after it's gone to logon screen (due to screen-saver auto locking the PC). The problem is that on the logon screen there's no field to type password (see image). Any ideas what might be the issue?

    Hi,

    Regarding your concern, we suggest setting up power options first before setting the screen saver. You may perform these steps:

    • In the search box on the task bar, type Power Options,
      and then select Power Options.
    • Click Change Plan Settings.
    • Change the settings to Never.
    • Select Save changes.
    • Set your screen saver.
