Windows 10: Recently purchased Windows 10 key not working

Hello everyone,


Yesterday I bought a windows 10 key that just doesn't work. I had recently build my first pc and used the free trial version with the 'Activate Windows' watermark. Yesterday I decided to buy the product key from the Microsoft website order number 8452237701 and I'm getting several errors. In the activation window in settings I get error 0x803F7001 and when I try to enter the product key I get error 0xc004f050.


I tried selecting troubleshoot and using the help bot but nothing seems to work. I purchased a Windows 10 home version, while the edition in the activation window says Windows 10 pro. I don't know if this helps in identifying the problem.


One other thing I might have done wrong was that after installation I did not enter the product key right away and reset the PC, entering the product key after the update and installation process was completed. Would that explain why my product key is getting rejected? In any case, this is very frustrating and taking way too much of my time. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out.

Installing Windows 10 using Windows 7 key

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

Thanks but I don't want to do any decrypting. I want to download a Win 10 ISO from Microsoft and install it using my Win 8 key. No other steps required. Is that possible?
