Windows 10: Recently wiped and reinstalled Windows, now I can't add my laptop to the devices list on...

> I wipe and reinstall windows> I go for like 3 months without caring> I realize that my Microsoft-linked laptop the one I reinstalled Windows on is messed up> I try to fix it by removing the device entirely from my Microsoft account> I try to add it back using my service tag/serial number> I get hit with "We didn't recognize this serial number"I can't add a screenshot for some reason. It's a Dell Inspiron G15 5515 P105F004DGR.

you get the idea. ( too lazy to put it in a for loop and test it.

or just open regedit and remove all the fileX from that key.

only way I know to clear em out is to remove the reg keys

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Paint\Recent File List.

you can try setting that container to read only but I'm not sure how that will affect it. or a basic powershell/vbscript in taskscheduler to wipe those keys every so often.

that's all off already dude lol, I'm really surprised there is no fix for the recent files list/MRU in the file menu of programs haha

I appreciate the help, MS really needs to implement a Group Policy or a string that can do that for all programs installed
