Windows 10: Recipients of my phone calls via phone link complain that the sound is poor quality.

The recipients of my phone calls via phone link complain that the sound is poor quality. I am on a new Lenovo Thinkpad with Windows 11 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 phone. How can I improve call quality ?

Samsung Galaxy S10: Android 10 / OneUI 2.1

It worked fine using my Surface Pro 4 but on my new Surface Pro X the Ringtone and Call Quality through the Your Phone app are terrible: Constant crackling, tapping whatever you want to call it. Kind of like coins being dropped.

All other aspects of Your Phone work wonderfully.

I've tried:

Phone:

1. Bluetooth: Unpairing the Surface Pro X
2. Your Phone Companion App: Clearing Application Data/Cache

Surface Pro X:

1. Settings -> Bluetooth: Unpairing the phone
2. Settings -> Phone: Unlinking the phone
3. Settings -> Apps: Your Phone App: Repair and Reset

I then set it all up again which went through all fine.

I've also tried:

1. Device Manager -> All Bluetooth Drivers -> Update Driver
2. Paired a Bluetooth speaker to my Surface Pro X. This works fine.

I suspect the issue is related to the Your Phone App and Bluetooth but don't know where to check next?

Because the crackling noise seems to be bluetooth related.

Poor audio quality at other end while answering calls

I am using Lumia 820 and while answering calls, people at the other end complain about poor voice quality. Transferring the call to speaker phone sometimes improves the sound quality dramatically. Kindly help.

 

Lumia 920 - Poor Call Quality

I often experience poor call quality when I'm talking to people on my 920. People I speak to complain of me breaking up, sounding like I'm in a tunnel and general poor quality. It dips in and out whilst speaking to them. I called Orange (my network) today
and they've said this is a known problem with Nokia and a software fix is due for release.

Knowing this I've made a number of calls today and made a mental note of whats happening when the problem occurs. Seems to be the way I am holding the phone against my ear and moving it whislt speaking leading me to think it is something connected to the
movement sensor in the phone that displays the number key pad during a call if you move it away from your ear. I've taken now to using the ear piece and leaving the phone still on the desk. No-one I've spoken to since has complained of an issue with the
call clarity.



Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
