  1. Recognising input device

I need to connect a cassette player via a "converter" which I have used before but not since probably Windows 7. The "connector" comes from the earpiece port of the cassette player to the USB 2 port on the computer I have also tried the Aux port but no result ether. The computer will not recognise the input device.

    :)

My TV no longer recognises my PC

Since moving to Windows 10, my Samsung TV doesn't recognise my PC. When I bought the TV it recognised my PC, then on Windows 7, immediately as one of the available sources, along with USB, HDMI etc. Now that I have changed to Windows 10, however, the TV
can't see the PC as an input, though everything else, including wifi network and internet access, works as before. I've looked in the devices list in Windows 10 settings, and the TV is listed as available.
    Any suggestions, please?

Cortana will not recognise my USB headset as an audio input device

most applications on my windows 10 PC including skype, and chrome will recognise the headset input however, cortana will not recognise any input devices and on the settings > Time & Language > Speech, if I go onto microphone and then click "Get started", it will give me a sample speech sentance. After speaking it it will show me the dialogue box:

    [my] microphone is set up
The microphone is ready to use with this computer. Click Finish to complete this wizard

After doing this it seems to have not affected my computer in anyway

PS I have already got my region, speech and language set to: London, English (UK) and English (UK)
