Windows 10: Recommendations for Wireless Router to run VPN client

I want to run a VPN client on my router in order to protect all my devices attached to the network. I currently use a ASUS RT-AC66U B1 and the router CPU just can't handle the traffic. It degrades my download speed over 50% compared to running the VPN client on my desktop. Any suggestions or comments will be appreciated.

Wireless Router VPN?

I don't have much experience when it comes to VPN but is there a good wireless router that has built-in VPN that equips all connected devices with encrypted browsing? Basically I am looking for a plug-and-play solution. I see some routers with VPN support but how does the decryption work on the other end?

I don't feel like sending all my browsing information to a VPN service provider such as TunnelBear, not to mention each machine will need to have its software installed.

can someone recommend me a wireless router with built in cable modem. Most of the devices ive seen are equiped with ADSL modems!

• Are you able to connect to the router but unable to connect to the Internet?
• Do you receive any error message when connecting to the router? If yes, what is the exact error message that you receive?
