Windows 10: Recording software crashes my PC

I've tried to solve this many and many times, all to no avail. ANY recording software I use makes my computer fans ramp up to max speed, then my pc proceeds to crash. I have no clue what to do anymore and that is why I am here. I mean ANY recording software makes my pc screw up; Including the xbox game bar.

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.

Voice Recorder Crashes

Hi Dalchina,
I tried to use the program you recommended. I have a feeling it is the solution to my problem but I have not got it to work. The file name is Re-Install and Re-Register a Single App for Current Account . The instructions were:

1. Open a Command Prompt
2. Copy and Paste the command

These image files show what happened when I tried to enter the instruction in Command prompt.

Steps Recorder there... but not there

I seemed to have been saved by a link to this fix:
Please use regedit to rename hklm\software\policies\microsoft\windows\AppCompat - changeAppCompat to AppCompat_HOLD . Then try launching PSR again.
Tried it and now Steps Recorder seems to be working as it should.
But to follow up on your suggestion, I'm going to try to find and repair the corrupt files that my sfc scan found... after setting a restore point!
