   • Once restarted, press 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode.
     
   • In Safe Mode, you might be able to log in with the default admin account which might not have a password set. From there, you can access the Control Panel and reset the password for your administrator account.

Can't remember administrator password in Windows 10

I am running Windows 10. I cannot remember my administrator password even with the clue I noted. I've tried suggestions listed on different forums, nothing works. I can sign in to Microsoft, but apparently this is a different account. So, how do I
reset or recover my administrator password?

- If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
- If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.
