    Recover Win 10 by downloading a copy on another computer for install on the problem computer


    I have a startup error on a computer "Registry is corrupted or missing...." and the computer will not boot. Latest version of Win 10 20H2.


    I want to do a clean install and obviously cannot download the Win 10 on the problem computer. When I access the site, I might be misinterpreting this but to download a copy it appears that it might be wanting to install on the computer on which I am downloading.


    I want to download to a USB key so I can install on the problem computer. How do I do this?

    According to this list, your PC isn't on Acer's approved list for Win 10. Could you check that?

    This is an older PC which came with Win 7. Have you ever clean installed Win 10 on it?

    • Integrated Graphics

    We can only proceed step by step.

    So chkdsk and SFC /Scannow are ok. But any attempt to reset your PC or run DISM fails.

    Is this what you tried? I'm not 100% clear what the above means. Clean install or this procedure?

    If you tried this, it's possible it failed as you need (it seems) some 500Mb of unallocated space on your hard disk.
