    Recovering files from removed hard drive from windows 10 HP laptop


    My hard drive stopped booting up and so it had to be removed in order to swap it out. The problem is none of the files are showing as accessible when you browse to Users/name/documents... etc. I also need to receover my email .PST folder in order to restore my outlook email because I had no back up of that when the drive crashed. Sticky notes and all my bookmarks are also needed. Where can these files be accessed from since the drive is not saying i have permission. I loaded the crashed drive in an external hard drive case in order to back up the files before installing the Windows 10 OS again.

    Does not work on a windows pc which is what the OP probably intended

    windows by default does not have HFS and HFS+ based hard drives.
    Able to perform retrieval on both HFS and HFS+ based hard drives. and so will not work with windows

    Hi there

    First time I've asked a question here so here goes.

    My daughters HP laptop will not boot up. Used HP diagnostic built in and it says hard drive is failing.

    I think I can recover her photos , files etc by removing hard disk and backing up to new drive BUT....

    when I install it how will I get get windows 10 back onto the drive?

    Any suggestions?
