Windows 10: Recovery code not accepting alpha characters

I have a Dell 15 running Windows 11. I suddenly received the dreaded blue screen of death. I had to create a recovery key but when I attempted to key the code in, it wouldn't accept alpha characters but would numerals. Both were present in the recovery code.I cannot access settings but can the command prompt but only X:\windows\systems32Messages received at various stages in trying to resolve the issue are:1. 'Driver Over ran stack buffer'2. Can't view C drive in command prompt - this drive is locked by Bitlocker Drive Encryption. You must unlock this drive from Control Panel

E72 How do you enter an alpha as opposed to Numeric lock code

I have been trying to set up lock codes for my E72. I changed the operator default PIN code from nnnn to NNNN (where n and N represent a single numberic digit). I changed the default '12345' to 'aaaaaa' (where a represents a single alpha character).

When the phone turns on it asks for a PIN and appears to be only able to accept numberic entry. I tried NNNN and lost one of of my three attempts. There is no way I can see to enter an alpha code. The shift key bottom left has no effect. There is a picture
of a pencil and 123 above and to the right of the entry field showing only numeric entries are accepted.



Anyone know how to enter alpha characters?
