Windows 10: Recovery, Downloaded New Win 11 from cloud, erased all personal files. Screen still dims...

I am at a loss. I was having a screen dim, bright issue. Even when hibernating the screen would turn off and on. I thought the solution would be Recovery, new cloud download for Win 11, and deleted all personal files. It has just near completed my setup of country and keyboard, etc and the dim / bright is already there?Any suggestions after all this? jack ":-\\

Dim screen Win 10?

Have read the blogs. Windows 10 needs to make it EASY for people to dim their screen. This is my 3rd Toshiba laptop and it was easy to adjust the screen on all 3 including this one, until windows 10. Will buy a new laptop without Win 10 before I'll go
through all the steps to dim screen in win 10 that is listed in the blogs I've read. I did stall an APP that helped but screen still hurts my eyes and creates a headache. Anybody have an EASY answer. It was so easy to work with DOS and windows 3.1. It's been
a pain for a lot of people ever since they came up with the REGISTRY. Thanks people.

Help! File recovery software?

Anyone have any suggestions on good software to recovery as much data as possible from an accidentally erased hard drive? Workin on a client pc and it seems he took it to geek squad once and they may have erased the hdd. Preferably a freeware one but ill pay if necessary. This guy has tons of photos from his tour in Iraq and they are priceless! if i can recover at least some it will be worthwhile for him....and me!
