Windows 10: Recovery Drive in Windows 11 Home. Deleted data on other partition of external drive.

1TB external hard disk. Had 2 partitions 20GB, and ~900GB.I used the Recovery Drive option. It was showing me the available drive as D and E drive. Had selected D which was 20GB. When creating a recovery point for Windows 11, I selected a 20GB partition of my external hard disk but it deleted everything on my hard disk. Now, it is showing as follows: I have lost all my data from the 900GB partition.Please guide me on how to recover or what was not done correctly during the backup process.

Data recovery on external hard drive

Backed up 500gb data onto 1tb external Toshiba hard drive (v63700-c, HDTB210xk3ba), created a windows recovery drive on Toshiba external hard drive using windows 10 s/w which has 500gb data. While creating a recovery drive, windows 10 didn't warn
me that data will be deleted, my data 500gb is not visible on toshiba external drive, want to get back my data ? Can you pl help me? searched internet and found R-studio, testdisk, minitool s/w which seems will recover deleted partition, did anyone used these
or any suggestions highly appreciated.

I had 5000gb data on 1Tb external hard drive, so created recovery drive on it with windows 10. when creating recovery drive, windows 10 didn't tell that data on external hard drive will be deleted, but when I connected don't see 500gb data, it only shows
recovery drive. How do I can see my data on external hard drive? Any help is highly appreciated.

I suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps to delete the recovery partition from Command Prompt and check if it helps.

I suggest you to log-in as an administrator with Microsoft account, try the below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin)
• Type: diskpart
• At the DISKPART prompt, type: list disk (Make note of the disk number of the disk from which you want to delete the partition.)
• At the DISKPART prompt, type: select diskn (Select the disk
  n from which you want to delete the partition.)
• At the DISKPART prompt, type: list partition (Make note of the number of the partition that you want to delete.)
• At the DISKPART prompt, type: select partition (Select the partition
  n that you want to delete.)
• At the DISKPART prompt, type: delete partition

Caution

• 
  Deleting a partition on a dynamic disk can delete all dynamic volumes on the disk, thus leaving the disk in a corrupt state. To delete a dynamic volume, use the
  delete volume command instead. For instructions on how to delete a dynamic volume, see Related Topics.
  
• 
  When you delete a partition, all data on that deleted partition or logical drive is lost.
  
• 
  You cannot recover deleted partitions or logical drives.
