Windows 10: Recovery partitions not recovery DRIVE

I am working on a Toshiba laptop which my sister bought used with Win 8.0. The software was unfixable so I reinstalled 8.0 from a recovery drive I created with the Win 8.0 system. I then installed Win 8.1 from a microsoft store download and then installed Win 10 after that. Going from Win 8.0 to Win 10 was not allowed. When on Win 8.1 it had two recovery PARTITIONS on the hard drive. After installing Win 10 it has one recovery partition on the hard drive. Is the partition for Win 10 or one of the earlier versions? How can I tell? Would an upgrade to Win 10 from an earlier version ever create or write to a Recovery Partition. Is it OK to delete the Recovery partition?

How To: Create recovery partition.

it worked when i copied all the files of the disk to the recovery partition i created, but i had to use WinPE tab to add the entry.

Type: WIM Image (Ramdisk)
Name: Recovery
Path: Z:\Sources\boot.wim
and hit Add Entry
I tried it in VirtualBox and it worked.
At first, it would add a second "Windows 7" entry to the list, but when the installation is finished, the old one is deleted. (I formatted only C: partition)

i am working on a computer that has a bad worm on it that needs to be reformatted without the original disks. It has a recovery partition. i hit f11 on startup to get the boot menu but there is no recovery partiton option.. any help????????????


Also it is a dell latitude d630 with vista business

Hello, I see that you are having issues with recovery partition. I would suggest you using the diskpart command in the command prompt. First, open up the comand prompt as an administrator, then type in diskpart. Now, type in list disk, and look for the
