Windows 10: Recovery System Image fails with STATUS_WAIT_2 XX80070002

I have an Dell Inspiron desktop, The system had Windows 10 Home installed. The HD was tested as failing but still booting so I create a Windows Backup on my NAS. I then replaced the HD. Now I'm trying to restore the system using that Windows backup. I am at a place where I get the above error.Here's what I've done:I have Windows Recovery USB drive. I used it to preform a clean install of Windows 10 Home on the new disk.Go to Settings > Update and Security > Recovery. [HELP]Image recovery issues

Guys i am trying to fix my cousins Asus Eee netbook. It has a backup image file that is partitioned on the hard drive but when I go to use it the app will run through a few steps and stop. It is running Vista . Any suggestions?

 

System Image Recovery Hangs

I discovered that if I wait until the step "Advanced Options" to connect the external drive containing the System Image, and then click on "System Image Recovery", the recovery proceeds normally.

If I connect the external drive before starting the recovery process, that is, before clicking on "Shift" and "Restart", the system hangs when I get to the "System Image Recovery" step.

It seems that the system image back is not created properly or might be the system hard drive is corrupted.


As an initial steps, I suggest you to disconnect all the external device expect mouse and key board and then try performing system back and check if it helps.

If the issue persists, I suggest you to run check disk on the hard drive to see if there are any corruptions.
