Windows 10: Recurring connectivity problems with my bluetooth headset

I own two different Bluetooth devices, the Bose NC 700 and the Sony in-ear WF-1000XM3 headphones, and I've been having constant issues when trying to use either on them on my laptop HP Zbook, Windows 10 installed. In particular, what tends to happen is that I'm generally able to use the headphones in video calls right away after starting my laptop, meaning that both the microphone and speaker functionalities work fine. However, whenever I use my headphones for a different purpose e.g., watching a video on Youtube, playing music on Spotify the bespoke functionalities are off -- meaning

Bluetooth headphones connect but headset portion does not


I have the exact same problem with my Bluebuds X





I have tried to manually add a driver through windows driver update (you can choose a driver device from the list)
but i'm not sure which one is compatible and had no luck getting the headset portion to work... *Sad
