Recurring issue with PC not recognizing Display Port

Hello,About a month ago I bought a new 4k monitor and connected it to my video card via Display Port RTX 2080 TI. Ever since getting the new monitor I've had constant display issues and I'm not sure what the problem is. My prior setup was dual monitor, one was HDMI and one was Display port to HDMI adapter because it was an HDMI only monitor. I had no issues with this setup. Now my setup is Display port to the new monitor and HDMI connection to a second monitor. When I turn my computer on it's as if it doesn't recognize anything is connected. My primary monitor The display port one will disp

Display port issue with Asus MB...

About two month ego, I've built an Intel system with:
    • ASUS Prime Z370-A LGA 1151
    • Intel Core i5-8500 Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.0 GHz
    • BenQ 32" LCD monitor
The PC has Windows 10 Pro, 64-bits, v.1709. The monitor had been connected to the Display Port (DP) and has been working just fine until couple of days ego.

The PC booted fine, but the the monitor displayed "No video signal available..." or something similar and went to power saver mode. Unplug/plugin the DP cable on both ends did not bring back the display, same result. Replacing the DP cable with a new one did not bring back the display either, same error message displayed. It's possible that both DP cables are bad, but it's unlikely.

Plugged in an HDMI cable and that works, currently the PC running with that just fine.

What are the likeliness that the Asus motherboard developed a bad DP port? And if it's not unusual, what are the chances that the HDMI port will die as well?

Obviously the monitor, that's 3-5 years old, also could have the the DP port dead. I am in the process of testing BenQ monitor with another PC with DP port and test the new PC with another monitor with DP port.

Is there any chances that the i5-8500 CPU (UHD Graphics 630) had the DP circuit die? It's unlikely, but it is a distant possibility.

And yes, I could always add a video card as a last result, but prefer not to. This is an office PC with no requirement for video card.

  3. USB port not woking in Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are unable to use the USB port, when you use the card reader simultaneously.
In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type
      winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • Are you aware of any changes on the PC, prior to this issue?
    • Does this issue occur with all the USB port in the PC?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform the steps (Exclude Method 1 & 2) as mentioned in this article:

Error: “USB Device not recognized” when
you try to access a USB external hard drive.
