  2. Winndows 10 delete multiple files or folders do not show in recycle bin

    Hi R-A-M-A-I-R,

We appreciate you for being a part of Windows 10.

Before proceeding, we need more information to help you better.

    • Where is the folder located? Is it on your primary hard drive where the Windows 10 is installed/ secondary hard drive/ external hard drives like flash drive etc.?(which you have deleted accidentally)

    • Since when you are facing this issue?

    • Have you enabled the option “Don’t move files to Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted” under the Recycle Bin properties?
Until you will get back to us, you may follow the below suggestions and check if it helps.

This happens when you permanently delete a file from your computer without sending it to the Recycle Bin by clicking the file and then pressing
Shift + Delete keys on the keyboard.

Try the steps and check whether this issue is happening with all folders in computer or particular folders to isolate the issue.

    • Open the Desktop, right click on the empty area and click on
New and then click on Folder.

    • Now, new folder might have been created on your desktop.

    • Right click on your New folder (which you have created) and click on
      Delete.

    • Now, open the Recycle bin and check if you are able to see the folder which you have deleted.
You may disable the steps if you have enabled the option “Don’t move files to Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted” in Recycle bin folder.

    • Open the Desktop, locate the Recycle bin, right click on it and select
      Properties.

    • Select the drive on which you are facing this issue (like C:\ or D:\ or F:\ etc.)

    • Click on Custom size option instead of “Don’t move files to Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted

    • Check the box Display delete confirmation dialog.

    • Click on Apply and OK buttons.

    • Reboot the computer and check if it helps.
I hope the above information helps. Kindly let us know if you need any further assistance with Windows. We are glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

  3. No delete confirmation for Favorites, nothing in Recycle Bin

Thank you for clarifying. My apologies as I thought that Don't move files to Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted
    was enabled.

To better assist you, kindly provide the following information:

    • Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:
    1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
    2. Click OK.
    • Does the bypass issue with Recycle Bin also happens to other type of files?

Upon further researching, the Recycle Bin could possibly be corrupted. You can reset the Recycle Bin by performing the steps below:

    1. Click on Start, search for Command Prompt and right-click on it and select
    Run as administrator.

    2. In the Command Prompt window, type and enter the command below:

    rd /s /q C:$Recycle.bin

In addition, holding the Shift key while deleting a file can also cause the file to be erased without it going in the Recycle Bin first.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Regards.

Recycle Bin Confirmation - When Files/Folders Delete from Server Mapped Network Drive

Files are permanently deleted even though recycle bin properties is set for them to go to recycle bin

Well, this got me one step closer. Following these steps showed C and D and I ran the rd command on both and it didn't help. But then it occurred to me: I map portions of D to other letters, such as W. And if I'm in d:\folder\subfolder, delete sends the file to the recycle bin. But if I'm in w: (which is mapped to that same subfolder), it doesn't. Is there a way that I can be in the mapped drive (wRecycle Bin Confirmation - When Files/Folders Delete from Server Mapped Network Drive :) and have deleting go to the recycle bin? When I ran the listvolume command in the linked tutorial, w: did not show up.

After writing the above, I ran into this site:

Enable Recycle Bin on Mapped Network Drives | Guide 2022

That seemed to work. I did it with folders that have nothing (like saved games) but not really sure how this works and whether it survives rebooting, so if others have other suggestions, that would be great. Thanks to everyone above who has posted a reply.

I'll note that in the computer I was using until a few weeks ago, which I think was win7, I'm also positive that if I were in w: I could delete to the recycle bin.
